"Everything Was Forever Until It Was No More” depicts a range of photographs taken and uploaded to the internet by a semi-anonymous Yahoo! GeoCities User from Finland in 2001. GeoCities, a free web-hosting platform, allowing users to create and edit their own HTML based online portfolios and web appearances, went offline in 2009. Several mirrors and archives are still online, storing original user data, images and information. Hosting, storing and connecting mainly private user-generated content before Myspace, Facebook and LinkedIn, Geocities can be seen as a pre-social-media platform in early stages. The images picture different constellations and portays of individuals from a group of teenage
friends. Tattooing, hugging, posing, smoking and a picture of a snake in a basket filled with newspaper."
